Safe Travel

2IUSI has worked for many years in Querétaro, Mexico, and San Jose, Costa Rica. The safety of participants in our programs is a focus of our pre departure educational efforts as well as on site advice and monitoring.

We believe both destinations to be generally safe and very friendly places to visit. We must all use our common sense and be aware of our surroundings in any country in order to avoid unpleasant or unsafe situations. It is important to keep in mind, however, that what may seem dangerous or threatening is sometimes simply the look and feel of a culture and a location different from that which we consider "normal". We encourage you (and your son or daughter) to learn more about your destination country --Costa Rica/Mexico--, so that you can differentiate the realities of our southern neighbors from violent images perpetuated through television and the mass media. Our pre-departure orientation materials contain specific suggestions for a safe stay
