Water and Wings in Costa Rica! Join the Interamerican University Studies Institute of Eugene, Oregon, for an unforgettable adventure to Costa Rica this coming spring. We’ll leave the tourist routes and strike out to the far reaches of the Osa Peninsula, often called Costa Rica’s last frontier, then make our way north to the cloud forest at near Savegre, then through tropical lowland forest to Tortuguero National Park for a perfect ending of our expedition. From the Pacific to the Caribbean we will raft, kayak, hike and swim through Costa Rica, a natural paradise.

Highlights:
• Costa Rica’s natural wonders from coast to coast
• Small group of river folk and nature lovers—you and us!
• Deluxe accommodations
• Colorful birds, noisy monkeys, magnificent rivers and two oceans!

It’s the perfect time of the year to travel in Central America – it’s the dry season AND bird mating time. Accompanied by one of the country’s best naturalists we’ll go far beyond the ordinary tourist paths, boating out through mangroves to a tiny village on the Osa Peninsula for beachcombing, sea kayaking and snorkeling at an offshore island, then ascending to the Cloud Forest in search of the Resplendent Quetzal (and spectacular waterfalls as well), then rafting and river boating through the tropical forest, and ending with kayaking along quiet canals of Tortuguero National Park.

Part of the program fee goes to Willamette Riverkeeper, a non profit organization safeguarding the health of this important river in western Oregon. In addition to the fulltime services of one of Costa Rica’s best naturalists, Willamette Riverkeeper president and University of Oregon Spanish Professor Barbara May will also travel with you as IUSI’s representative.
