Comparing Programs Cost is the first thing everyone looks at when choosing a program. Look closely at what you get for your money. Compare: Program length (best yardstick: number of in-country weeks) What's included? Tuition and fees, meals, lodging, activities, airfare? What is NOT included? Are these items listed clearly in the program brochure? Any hidden charges? Whose program is it? Who is the sponsor? Is it local, regional, national? A non-profit? For profit? What are the program goals? Are they focused? Do these fit your needs and desires? Educational Quality Is the program structured to give the student an educational experience or is it a sightseeing program? Number of participants Is it a definite number or "as many as can be recruited?" Will this group be merged together Lodging Homestay? Single, double or multiple students per family?
