Costa Rica for Teachers
(and friends!)

• 2 week intensive Spanish language instruction.
• Homestay with a Costa Rican family.
• Cloud-forested mountains, jungle, volcanoes, wild rivers and unspoiled    beaches.

The goal of this program is to acquaint teachers with a country which is rich in flora and fauna, as well as dramatic geography, while offering intensive Spanish instruction at the individual's level.

INTENSIVE SPANISH at the Costa Rica Spanish Institute, where a professional staff will provide classes that are relaxed, fun, and effective. "The main role of the teacher is to be a motivator and a facilitator rather than a lecturer so that the student is able to express his / her individuality while relating to others in Spanish." You are placed according to your level in classes of 2-5 students. Mornings, 4 hours per day. Afternoons are free to explore on your own; dancing lessons, talks on Costa Rican history and culture, visits to nearby towns, coffee plantations and other places of interest.

COST: $760. Additional weeks @ $380 per week.
Included: Spanish language instruction; homestay (meals included: breakfast and dinner); services of IUSI representatives. Pre-departure orientation and trip packet will be provided by IUSI.
Not included: Transportation to and from Costa Rica; personal and optional expenditures.

TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS: Plan on arriving the weekend before you begin classes on a Monday. If you wish to continue your language study, the charge is $345 per week, tuition, room and board. Spouses and others who may wish to join you may do so, paying a housing fee.
