Mexican Language and Culture
Program for Teachers
• For teachers at all levels and their spouses/partners
• Intensive immersion language training in Querétaro, Mexico
• Go as an individual, or with a group:
• Individual: 1-3 weeks duration, with extension by week possible
OR
• 5 or 6 week advanced writing and oral skills program with University of Oregon graduate credit available (UO fee extra)
• Housing and meals with a carefully chosen Mexican family
• Visits to local schools
• Round tables with Mexican educators, political scientists and anthropologists
• Excursions to villages and Mexico City [on programs longer than 10 days]
• Pre departure orientation materials and program specific handbook
• "Extras" - salsa lessons, cooking classes with a master chef, birding, pottery, music and an illustrated demonstration of the uses of the agave plant.
Costs:
Independent: $397.00 per person per week. Additional weeks beyond the fourth week are $350.00 per person. This includes 3 hours per day (M-F) of small group instruction at your level and full room and board with a Mexican family. The 5 week summer program costs $2,242 for tuition, room and board; 6 week program, $2,547 for tuition, room and board.
